Direct Payments provides the opportunity for people to have control over their day to day life through flexible care arrangements. Instead of the council providing the care services, the money is given to the individual so that they can buy the care they need and choose the kind of support that is right for them.
Tassibee staff can support you to apply for Direct Payments or assist in making changes to your existing care packages.
Tassibee employs a team of support workers, who can work with you if you are receiving direct payments, so you can lead more independent lives as part of your care plan.
Our support workers can help:
- To apply for Direct Payments or make changes to your existing care package.
- By providing a sitting service
- Assisting you with your shopping
- Helping to get you to the doctors or hospital appointments
- Acting as translator
- Transport you to appointments and social activities
- Providing you with emotional support and advocacy
If you are not receiving Direct Payments and have care needs and are interested, contact us and we will see how we can help you to set this up.

S is visually impaired and has suffers from diabetes. S said she ‘ I am so happy to have N as a support worker, she make my day brighter because my days are so dull. Without the help my support worker provides I feel sad and isolated. My support worker gives me the confidence and encouragement to live my life to the fullest. Due to my sight impairment, I find trusting people very difficult. Tassibee paired me with my support worker who is like a big sister to me. I don’t know what I would have done if they hadn’t been there for me.
